The statue of Sleipnir overlooking the Midland Metro depot at Wednesbury, as seen in July 2017. At this time vegetation growth meant that the hill was barely climbable, and the statue was reachable by one path only (there used to be three or four routes from various sides). From the top there were virtually no views in any direction. If left unattended the statue itself will disappear into the bushes within a few more years, but at this stage the mythical horse looked like a steeplechaser.
