20006 at Wednesbury
20006 leaves Wednesbury with spoil empties, probably bound for Bescot. This shot was taken in 1985 (exact date to follow), not long before the cooling towers at Ocker Hill Power Station were demolished. By 2015 all that survived from this photo were the abandoned rails, either side of the road, and now mainly hidden under vegetation. And rather miraculously the lamp post. The lampshade has gone, but the post and metal frame at the top are still extant, albeit hidden in trees and invisible from this spot on Potters Lane. You can see it from the road entrance to the Midland Metro depot entrance though.
