Ex-works 08283 stands in Bescot Down Storage Sidings. I don't have a date for this, but it went from Longsight to Swindon Works in
February 1979, and the Railway Observer suggests it received an "intermediate" overhaul, completed by the end of April. Crewe's 08473
also had an intermediate around the same time and reached Bescot on its return journey by the 30th April. If 08283 came north in the
same convoy that dates the pic to around that time. Otherwise probably later in May.
