Bachmann Class 20
is something of a mongrel. The body was acquired from Bachmann, in factory-weathered blue and numbered 20124. I didn't care much for the weathering when I saw it in the flesh, so it was removed and then re-weathered by myself. It needed a pre-TOPS number, but it proved tricky to find a suitable loco which had a plated over tablet-catcher recess while still retaining the deep cabside windows that those locos originally had. I finally located a shot of 8115 in this condition, although that loco would soon be involved in a collision which led to a rebuilt cab with the smaller cabside windows.
The chassis came off eBay. It had a 21-pin DCC socket to which I fitted a Digitrains sound decoder.
