47355 at Tame Bridge
47355 leads 4O29 Trafford Park - Southampton MCT through Tame Bridge at 14:53 on Saturday 12th April 2003. The Fragonset loco was evidently on-hire to Freightliner at this time. It's been a long time since liners from the north west and Scotland routinely ran via the Grand Jct, and even longer since they were electrically-hauled north of Bescot. Nowadays the preferred route is via the Trent Valley, Nuneaton, Coventry and Leamington, or in a few cases Bushbury, Walsall, Sutton Park and Tyseley. More intensive passenger services on the Bescot to Aston and Stechford to Coventry lines have largely wiped out daytime freight on these routes.
